Happy Anniversary Lovey!

Two years ago, the most relaxing summer of my life was ending and the most exciting time in my life was about to begin. That summer I had gone to Chile for a humanitarian trip with the group Ayuda, to Japan to pick my brother up from his mission, to California to spend some time on the beach, and to Alaska to hang out with my roommate and see her hometown. It was amazing. Three different continents, two different seasons (winter in Chile....brrr), and a lot of enjoying life.

A week later I moved into the Santa Barbara apartments south of campus with Mandi and Katie. It was here at Santa B, playing foursquare in the quad that I met my future husband. Three days later, he gave out home teaching assignments in church. He had assigned himself to my apartment. Fancy that...

I was interested, so I tried to reciprocate the next day at Ward Family Home Evening. We played a get to know you game and I threw the tennis ball to Scott. He seemed pleased.

A week later, Scott invited me to go to the devotional given by President Hinckley. I told him I'd love to, but I had some errands I had to run beforehand (translation: I had to get cute so I told him I'd meet him there). It was a lot of fun and I did look very cute.

Afterward, my mom picked us up and drove us to my car at her house. It was the first time he "met the fam." My mom said he had personality.

Our first real date was two days later - the Homecoming Spectacular. Good conversation, good people-watching, and a definite hope for a second date.

That Sunday I kissed him. I know, I know - but I had given him the cheek for a few days by then and I wasn't patient enough to give him the chance to try again.

Three weeks later Scott invited me to go to St. George for the weekend with his sister Rachel and her roommate. This was my first time "meeting the fam". Loved them.

On the way home, we sang Disney songs at the top of our lungs. The next day the "L" word was tossed around...less than a month after the first kiss...and the rest is history. Marriage talk a week later, engaged 6 weeks after that. We got married on August 22, 2008 and have loved every minute of it.

Schedule for a Happy Saturday

(Sorry, it's starts on Friday night)

10:30 pm: Take Unisom to avoid waking up like the past few nights
8:30 am: Wake up, make breakfast, and get back in bed to watch Gilmore Girls re-runs.
10:30 am: Take Nap #1
12:00 pm: Lunch (not that I hadn't been grazing all morning)
1:30 pm: Husband comes home from golfing. Watch TV and relax with the hubby.
2:30 pm: Take Nap #2
5:00 pm: Husband leaves for work, wife starts to get motivated to leave the apartment for the first time that day.
6:00 pm: Run a couple of errands, one of which involves the grocery store. (PS - I shouldn't be able to go to the grocery store alone anymore. I only bought junk food and cereal.)
7:00 pm: Go to Nordstrom for a pair of sunglasses and the always delicious Mango Smoothie with whipped cream. Yum.
8:00 pm: Relax in the tub.
9:30 pm: Husband comes home for a movie and pizza rolls (part of the junk food extravaganza at the grocery store today.)

Two naps, the tub, junk food, and the husband? A very happy Saturday indeed.

Belly: Week 15

This is the first of my belly pictures. I'm officially showing. Thank goodness! Being in the "Is she fat or is she pregnant?" stage definitely gets old fast.
