Most women find out if they're having a boy or a girl at their 20 week ultrasound. But Oldroyd girls aren't that patient.
When Shannon was pregnant with her first, my dad suggested she try a new gender prediction blood test that had just come out on the market. They take a small sample of the mom's blood and test it to see if there are any Y chromosomes. If they find any in her blood, it means she's carrying a boy. If not, it's a girl.
That test was cool and exciting, but it's also really expensive. So yesterday my mom and I were talking and we decided to go buy this:
Somehow, this test - which works kind of like a normal pregnancy test - is supposed to be able to tell you if you're having a boy or girl. I took the test this morning and it showed this.
It is supposed to be orange for a girl or green for a boy. But it looks orange/green to me. I'm leaning toward orange, but only because if it turned green, this is what it's supposed to look like.
