Our First Christmas

Christmas this year was wonderful! Here is a quick recap of our first Christmas together.

For Christmas, my mom bought me some really cute ornaments for our tree. I love them.

And then Scott surprised me with the Nativity from Willow Tree that I wanted so much but didn't think I'd get. What a wonderful husband.

And then my parents surprised me and gave me the rest of the set. It's so fun. I put away all the Christmas decorations and left this one out.
PS - Scott also got me that picture of the temple. Isn't it beautiful!

After Scott and I did our own Christmas morning, we went over to my parents' house to open presents with the fam.
My dad bought himself a Wii and Rockband. My dad is actually pretty good at the guitar.

My parents gave lucky Kate a cute little kitchen. Poor Todd spent hours putting it together.
Talk about a lot of pieces.
And if you want to see a picture of a really happy girl on Christmas click here to see Kate's new horse.

You Know What's Great?

Scott. Why is Scott so great? Because whenever we're watching TV and something funny happens, I think, "Hey that was funny." I smile. Maybe a soft laugh. But not Scott. He chuckles out loud. It's so cute. And it makes watching TV so much better. Being married sure is fun.

Freakin' Twilight

Fine, I'll admit it. I have in the past been overly critical of movies. I refused for many, many years to see any of the Harry Potter movies, or even the Star Wars Trilogy. I made up my mind that I wouldn't, even couldn't, like these types of movies.

At 8:50 P.M. I entered a St. George movie theater to watch the movie Twilight with Michelle and my family.

I will never get those two hours back... I think that my favorite moment of the movie was also my least favorite moment... Only the ridiculous chatter and sniffles from the fellow movie goers kept me alive... Who cares about vampires.

Operations and Supply Chain Management

I can feel my soul dying.

Operations and Supply Chain Management is possibly the worst part of my week...

Actually it's the worst part of my education for the past 16 years.

It's a three-hour class every Friday. (And if you think there's no motivation to go to class by Friday afternoon, you're right. Only now it's worse). We learn or at least talk about what goes into production, shipping, etc. Except, I learn nothing. NOTHING. NO THING.

And to top it all off, my professor is not a native English speaker. Even if he did teach us something, I wouldn't understand him.

Not even the Supply Chain MAJORS like this class.

Help me. I'm dying here.

Why I Love My Husband

There are many reasons why I love my husband, but right now, just few to share.

1. He works so hard. Between his two jobs and school and callings he always has something going on.

2. He cleaned up the whole house for me so that when I got home from class, I didn’t have to worry about getting things presentable for my visiting teachers.

3. He watches Gilmore Girls with me. He’s spent the last 12 months trying to like it until finally he can stand watching it with me.

4. I can’t cook. I’m great at toast, cereal, and my specialty, grilled cheese sandwiches. But he’s so patient and good to me – even when he’s hungry.

The Other Side of Bob...

It fits him so well. It's a little scary.

A few days before Scott and I got married, my camera was stolen. In all the craziness, I forgot to borrow a camera from someone. So the pictures from our honeymoon came from a disposable camera. They're not great, but I'm glad we have something to document our fantastic trip!

Standing outside the Magic Kingdom (We forgot to take the camera the day we spent in Disneyland)

California Adventure!

This speed limit sign was posted near the parks. It seemed to bother Scott for some reason...Seriously, though, why not just 15 mph?

Joe's Crab Shack

Huntington Beach
It was WAY too cold to get in the water.

Nielsen's Frozen Custard in St. George
We had a blast. I could use another vacation right now. I'm bored of school and winter.

Six Quirks

So...I've been tagged. I'm new to the tagging world, but this one seemed fairly simple so I'll give it a go.

Scott might say I have a million quirks, but for your sake I'll only list six.

  1. I fidget. A lot. All the time. I hate being still.
  2. I get comfortable in weird positions - one of my favorites is to have one of my legs up on the top of the couch with my head hanging off the front.
  3. Most of the time I need a TV on to fall asleep. Old re-runs of Gilmore Girls work best because I've seen every episode 100 times.
  4. I love sports but I don't like going to games very much. Poor Scott didn't know this until after we got married. He claims I tricked him. He should have realized long ago that I'm perfectly content to be at home at watch it on TV.
  5. I make a lot of jokes, but Scott is the only one who seems to think they're funny. I'm lucky he married me.
  6. Out of habit, I put my seatbelt on immediately after I get in a car...even if I'm just driving to down to my parents' house (three doors down).

Officially Converted

Jason Mraz has officially converted two more. We love him.

Scott and I went to his concert on Tuesday with my boss, Kyle, and his wife Kami and some of their friends. We had such a good time. Scott kept saying what a blast it was. Mr. Mraz was incredible.

Thanks Biglers for the fun night!

Ridiculous Guilty Pleasure

So I'm addicted to this silly show called Gilmore Girls... I am completely ashamed... but its true... probably more ashamed and embarrassed than anything... no, seriously. Thanks so much Michelle

Thankful Thursday

A few of the things I'm thankful for right now:

  1. I've taken three of my four midterms this week. Only one left!
  2. The boy in my group who volunteers to do the grunt work for our group projects.
  3. My nieces Kate and Jane who never fail to entertain. Any doubts click here.
  4. The boy who sits next to me in class who over-colognes. It's like having class in a department store.
  5. Internet access in class. So I can blog...and stalk all of your blogs.
  6. My favorite person in the whole world. The one who puts up with me stealing all the covers, leaving the TV on, and fidgeting non-stop. The one and only
Lovey Dovey.

Family Prayer

I'm afraid we missed the mark.

Scott and I try to pray together before we go to bed at night. But one of our major problems is that we always want the other to say the prayer. Monday night, we were kneeling at the foot of our bed, trying to decide whose turn it was. Scott said it that morning, I said it for lunch. I told him I said the closing prayer for family night (which was the last time we had prayed together) so it was his turn. He finally agreed and began to pray. About 15 seconds into it, he yelled, "I SAID THE CLOSING PRAYER!!!" I jumped at least a foot off the ground and two feet to the right. It terrified me. He was right though. He did say the closing prayer. I just forgot.

Maybe we need to be more like our nursery kids and just join in the prayer whenever we feel like it. They do that.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

1. Napping - I love naps. Oh, I love naps.

2. Oreos and milk - so delicious

3. Reading other people’s blogs.

4. MarioCart - Scott and I could play this all day long. Darn school and work and church...

5. Coupons and discounts I love feeling like I got a good deal.

6. Oh’s - Best cereal ever. Like cheerios, but they don't get soggy. And, oh yea, they taste better, too.

7. And Scott. We’ve only been married a month, but he’s awfully good to me. He made me waffles on our one-month anniversary. Cute husband…
